Our nicer neighbors to the north have elected another Trudeau to lead them. The surprising victory (“a stunning rout,” says the New York Times) by Canada’s Liberal Party ended conservative Stephen Harper’s nine-year reign atop the Canadian government. This follows a victory by Jeremy Corbyn to head Britain’s Labor Party. Though a long shot, America’s socialist senator Bernie Sanders is polling very well, suggesting that voters here and abroad are losing their enthusiasm for neoliberalism.
