As Maxwell Smart might ask: Would you believe that just 62 billionaires control as much wealth as the bottom half of the world’s population?
That’s the conclusion of Oxfam, in a recently released report. And we should not be surprised that wealth concentration has been steadily increasing. Just six years ago, it took 388 billionaires to balance the wealth of the bottom 50 percent. If the trend continues, there may be just one person as rich as half of the people on the planet.
